Projects, milestones, and tasks

Projects organise agreed work after a customer relationship or job is active.

How work is structured

  • Project: the overall piece of work or delivery engagement.
  • Milestone: a major phase, checkpoint, or delivery point inside the project.
  • Task: a specific action assigned to someone with a status and due date.

Recommended setup

  • Create milestones for larger phases such as discovery, build, review, and handover.
  • Keep tasks small enough to assign, update, and complete.
  • Use comments to keep project conversation close to the work.
  • Upload files to the project so staff and customers can find them later.

Monitoring progress

  • Review overdue tasks regularly.
  • Use project status and milestone progress to spot delays early.
  • Keep customers informed through the portal where appropriate.

Good to know: Milestones are best used as project phases, not as every small action.
